Not Just One, But Two Nightstands

The holidays are well underway {no shock to any of you I'm sure}, hence my hiatus from posting on the blog for, like, um...two months---eek!

Things have been amazingly busy between Urban Patina projects and the demands of my 'real' job. The days are flying by and not nearly enough hours. Thanks to you all for the continued support of Urban Patina and the handcrafted creation that we make. I receive messages everyday from wonderful followers, inquiring about custom orders, special projects and show schedules. I get your messages, everyone of them and I'm doing my best to respond as quickly as possible. I appreciate your patience while I try to balance my time!

Enough of that and on to these nightstands! These beauties were bound to be adorable no matter what color I painted them, but it's the hardware that pushes these girls over the edge.

These will be up for sale very soon, I encourage you to follow UP on Facebook and Instagram for more up to date activities.

Farmhouse Inspired: Nightstands + Cabinets

Whew! How can we already be approaching Halloween weekend. Time. Must. Slow. Down.

With so many things on my to-do list this fall, at times I actually feel overload paralysis. Do you know the feeling? I look at the to-do list and can't seem to get any of it done, instead I've allowed myself take some time each day to enjoy some evening walks and soak in the gorgeous fall weather that we've been having. I've sorta rebooted my system and now I'm ready to get working on products for upcoming holiday sales.

In the meantime though, I wanted to share some of the projects that have been coming together! Here is a quick glimpse at the cute nightstands and end tables as well as a couple lingerie cabinets.

That's all for today. Now off to get those holiday projects started!

Antique desk + chair set and other uniquities

Spent some much needed time alone in the shop this weekend. With the music cued up I started more projects then I care to mention...and I actually managed to finish a few too!

Here is a glimpse at the projects that rolled out and will be for sale later this week.

October can be the most beautiful month of the year, let's hope for more beautiful days like this past weekend! 70s in October, yes please!

As always, thanks for dropping by!

My Little Corner in Chaska - Part 3

Where did summer go? And now we are already a week into September! I'm not sure about you, but I'm thrilled to be thinking and prepping for fall. I love the crisp mornings, all things baking in the oven and fall colors...pure joy I tell you! And on top of that, with the more mild temps, I can leave the shop doors open and enjoy working in the fresh air instead of cooped up inside. {it's the little things}

I'm pretty sure I missed a week in there somewhere, oh well, let's just call this week three. This is what you might see in my little corner in Chaska if you meander on over...

The breakdown goes something like this:

A pair of medium grey, restoration hardware inspired nightstands.

Handcrafted metal pumpkins and halloween decor.

An industrial inspired coffee table with reclaimed floor boards and salvaged wire mesh.

A darling blush side table with a natural stained top.
{this lady hasn't made it over to the shop yet, but she is on standby, awaiting her turn}

Once again, thanks for keeping tabs on what's happening here at UP.

Best,
~Crystal

Refreshed Eastlake Dresser

A few years ago I came across about six small dressers at an Estate sale. I didn't dare pass them up so I grab them all, hauled them home and have been storing them in the barn ever since.

I've finally made my way {through the maze of furniture and lumber in the barn} to them a few weeks ago and started their makeovers, one at a time. This Eastlake number was one of the first pieces to get picked.

After replacing all the bottoms to the drawers and removing the THICK layers of varnish from the top, I painted the body in a custom mix of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and finished with wax. The hardware was missing from this piece when I got it so I used these brass pulls that I salvaged from a previous makeover.

And a little peek into my setup at the shop this week...I forgot to take more pictures so this is all I have to share.

Thanks for swinging through!

My Little Corner in Chaska - part 2

Each week, I hope to bring new things into my little corner at Shop 501 & Co in Chaska so that there is always something fresh to see. The other vendors at the store do such a great job merchandising their spaces(such a talented collaboration!), that I feel the pressure to keep my area as plump and interesting as possible.

Here is a glimpse at the space this week...

Oh, and this little guy is waiting patiently to be hauled over to the store someday very soon too!

Enjoy the weekend!

Trying something new, no words, just a gallery of pics showcasing this week's completed projects. Enjoy.
